Do you qualify for a Delta SkyMiles personal credit card?

These bonuses should be enough to interest just about anyone, regardless of airline allegiance. Still, before you apply, there are some things you need to consider.

Most important, you should have a credit score rated “good” or better, which FICO puts at 670 or higher, as rewards credit cards generally require that to qualify.

Additionally, you probably won’t earn a welcome bonus if you’ve had the the card before. For example, if you’ve previously opened the Delta SkyMiles Platinum card, you likely can’t earn the Platinum bonus again. However, you’re free to open any other Delta credit card and earn its bonus, including the Gold and Reserve cards.

American Express will let you know if you don’t qualify for a welcome bonus before you formally apply, giving you the option to change your mind.
